The Lancers' men's basketball team lost to Los Angeles Trade Tech Wednesday night at Hutto-Patterson Gym. The final score was 79-64.

PCC (6-16, 1-5) was inconsistent throughout the game, allowing Beavers (12-8, 3-3) forward Austin Bowen free reign of the court. He scored 29 points, making four out of five free throws and a three pointer.

Lancers guard Shawn Hampton drove to the hoop constantly, giving him 16 free throw opportunities, 14 of which he made. He finished with a total of 21 points, but it wasn't enough to dominate the game.

Pasadena forward Elliott Berry also contributed with two three-pointers, two out of six free throws and four field goals, giving him a total of 16 points.

"We got out-rebounded, basically," Hampton said of the loss. "They played harder than us on the rebounds. They wanted it more."

While the Lancers were focusing on outside shooting, Trade Tech capitalized on their jump shot opportunities. Excluding points acquired from free throws, 56 of their 68 points came from inside the three-point line.

PCC's men's basketball team plays Friday night at East Los Angeles College at 7:30 pm.
