The women's soccer team made a comeback in the second half but was defeated by Mt. SAC with the final score of 4-2 on Tuesday's South Coast Conference match at Robinson Stadium.

Part of Mt. SAC's Success was the 13 saves made by Mt. SAC goalie Dianna Zambrano.

Despite the loss, the Lancers played some good defense and made considerable effort thanks to players like Melissa Fudge and goalie Yvette Hernandez.

Lancers made two goals, both were scored in the second half.

Forward/defender Molly Pink made the first goal with the assist from midfielder Bianca Garoian, while Fudge scored the second goal in the seventy-third minute in which the team made a comeback.

Assistant Head Coach Warren Altounian was satisfied with the team's performance despite the loss. "(We) played with passion. we made some mistakes but overall I'm pleased with the team's performance," he said.

Yvette Hernandez had a good performance as she made seven saves for the Lancers. The game was delayed when the ball hit Hernandez, but she was fine and played the rest of the game.

Hernandez talked about her hand, which she hurt during the game "It's a minor bruise, but I'm good and ready to play (the next game)," she said.

She was proud of her individual and the team's performance, as she spoke about what the team needs to improve.

"I think our communication need to pick up as we will have better defense and we will stay ready," she added.

Coach Altounian noted what the team should improve. "We should finish better, play good defense and offense, have good communication and play as a unit," he said.

The Lancers are currently 7-9-1 overall and 4-6-1 in the conference.

Fudge was happy about the team's performance. "I thought we played better than what I expected," she said.

The Lancers will attempt to bounce back as they travel to face El Camino on Friday.
