The Board of Trustees voted to cancel PCC's winter intersession at the July 1 meeting. The decision was one of many in an effort to offset the projected $7.7 million deficit for the upcoming fiscal year. "My understanding is that there are certain block programs, like cosmetology and other vocational classes that will continue, but we have approved canceling the winter session," said Dr. Jeanette Mann, president of the board. Canceling the winter intersession is expected to save an estimated $3.9 million, a little more than half of the deficit. For more details see the Courier's next edition in print on July 16.

They mentioned on the Board of Trustee meeting in June that they were going to consider borrowing money. Have they gone on ahead and borrowed? What about the 'Bare Bones' budgets that President Perfumo mentioned in her ad-hoc meetings? have those been further mentioned? Will the bare bones be implemented?

This is very surprising and abrupt, considering they were rumors of merely raising the amount we pay for units: now we can't complain about that, because their will be no classes to overpay for!
