Two professional masseuses, accompanied by student trainees will be stationed on campus next week from Monday to Thursday giving out massages free of charge in an attempt to assuage students' after-finals stress.
The four-day event will be titled "Relaxation Week" and has been a traditional Associated Student event for multiple semesters.
"Relaxation week is designed to help PCC students relax after their finals. Aside from the free massages, we will be providing breakfast and lunch each day with different kinds of good food and drinks," said Lauren Crisci, vice president of student services and the coordinato of the event.
Alongside munchies and massages, Crisci explained that students are going to be handed out fliers published by the Health Services Department.
"The fliers are designed to help students relieve the stress that overcomes many during times of finals...It's just a bunch of basic stuff that people should definitely think about. I think it could help them throughout life." said Crisci.
The handed out literature will focus on making students aware of the changes in health affected by stress, and the methods by which to deal with it.
Held from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. in the Galloway plaza each day, the set-up will be open to all PCC students who wish to take a step back from the hectic atmosphere created during the last weeks of the semester and revel in the relaxation of a good rub down.
Crisci made it known that rain or shine, PCC will be holding this semester's "relaxation week:"
"If it rains, we will be holding it in a large white tent," she said.
The hype for this event is already felt throughout the student body.
Members are looking forward to relieving some of their own stresses:
"I am very much looking forward to Relaxation Week. I'm excited to get a massage. It is going to be a good opportunity for students to relieve some stress after their finals," said Marshal Roe, AS vice president of public relations.
