Decision '08 Debate: Palin Can Hold Her Own

The two vice presidential candidates squared off on national television Thursday, for what was to be the most viewed vice presidential debate in history. The country watched and waited to see how the two candidates would do.
For Palin, the pressure was on. Would she be able to live up to the many Republican standards? The answer, a solid yes. Palin might not have trumped Biden, but for being an underestimated player in the game going up against a well-seasoned politician, she held her ground quite well.
Opponents are quick to point out that Palin has virtually no experience. Apparently they have overlooked her four years as city council member, her six years as mayor, and her two years as governor of Alaska.
Comparatively, Obama has a total of 143 days of actual work under his belt as senator, and he's running for president, not vice president.
Obama contends that he has more executive experience than Mrs. Palin because he has managed an 18-month campaign.
Obama stated, " … Palin's town of Wasilla, has, I think, 50 employees. We've got 2,500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe $12 million a year. You know we have a budget of about three times that just for the month."
It is Obama's undeniable inexperience and poor qualification that makes his candidacy not remotely comparable to that of Palin's experience as governor, as well as her managing an over $10 million budget and more than 24,000 employees.
This isn't the only time Obama or his running mate have been wrong. In an interview with CBS Evening News, Biden stated, "When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the prices of greed …"
Maybe Biden should read a history book, because the stock market collapsed in 1929 and Roosevelt wasn't elected president until three years after the fall.
Here is another gem, this time from Obama speaking in Oregon, "I've now been in 57 states. I think one left to go." According to the latest maps printed by the U.S. Geological Survey the number of states stand at 50.
Clearly Obama and Biden need to get some priorities straightened, educate themselves, and then go for the presidency.
Granted, Palin may not be the most experienced candidate in the history of the vice presidency.
However, going up against Biden's lack of knowledge of history and Obama's paltry few months of working as a senator, the cards look stacked in her favor.
